Newcomers Guide

Whether you're attending your first choral concert or your first Michael O’Neal Singers (MOS) performance, we’re so glad you’re here. This guide is designed to help you feel at ease and fully enjoy a meaningful, musical experience.

What to Expect

A Welcoming Environment

MOS concerts are known for their uplifting spirit and musical excellence. You’ll be in good company—surrounded by a supportive community of newcomers, longtime patrons, and music lovers of all backgrounds.

Powerful Choral Music

Each program features a unique mix of classical masterworks, contemporary pieces, spirituals, folk traditions, or themed musical journeys. Every concert is crafted to inspire and connect.

Live Accompaniment

You may hear a full orchestra, chamber ensemble, or piano accompaniment, depending on the concert. We work with some of the finest instrumentalists in the Atlanta area.

Before You Arrive

Tickets

Tickets can be purchased online in advance or at the door, pending availability. If you have questions, our team is happy to help ahead of time.

What to Wear

There’s no dress code, come as you are. Some enjoy dressing up a bit for the occasion, while others prefer casual attire. You’ll fit in either way.

Location & Parking

Most of our concerts take place at Roswell United Methodist Church, which offers free and easy parking. The venue is fully accessible.

During the Concert

Arrival Time

Plan to arrive 20–30 minutes early to allow time for parking, seating, and browsing the on-line program.

Concert Length

Performances typically last about 75–90 minutes with no intermission, so we encourage you to use the restroom or grab water before the concert begins.

When to Applaud

Not sure when to clap? You’re not alone. A good rule of thumb is to hold applause until the end of a complete piece. If you’re unsure, feel free to follow the audience around you.

Phones & Photography

Please silence your phone before the concert begins. To preserve the experience for everyone, photography, video, and audio recordings are not permitted during the performance.

After the Concert

Stay Connected

If the concert moved you, we’d love to see you again. Join our email list or follow us on social media to stay informed about future events.

Share the Experience

Word of mouth is one of our most powerful tools. If you enjoyed the concert, tell a friend, or bring one next time!

Support the Music

MOS is a nonprofit, and your support helps keep the music alive. Whether it’s a donation, volunteering, or simply spreading the word, your participation means the world.

Thank you for making the time to join us. We hope this is the beginning of a lasting connection, with us, with music, and with the power of community through song.
